1 out of 5 stars Magnavox and grey vertical lines!   September 3, 2009
Carolyn Langlois (Haverhill, Mass United States)
I bought this thru Amazon and have had nothing but bad luck almost from the stat Grey vertical lines startes to appear, called cable to see if it was that, not no it's the TV gone bad, hard to watch the picture and very uneven viewing, warranty gone and if a repair guy came it would cost 1335.00 before he looked at and they say Magnavox is great for that. So I guess I leanred my lesson no more from Amazon
I'll have to wait till if breaks complelty I paid close to 1000.00
for this thing! UGH!!!!!!!!

1 out of 5 stars Also on my second defective one!   November 24, 2006

In 6 months, this is my second defective one of this seemingly great Magnavox 32" HD LCD tv. Fortunatly the first one konked out close to the first 30 days after I bought it from Best Buy- I assumed it was an insolated lemon...well, not it's 5 months later and my second one started to have the same symptoms- the sound started to cut out- and now the tv doesn't work at all. Magnavox has said they are unaware of a problem...I found that pretty hard to believe after I googled this product just 6 months too late- stay away from this one!

First one had a hum, it took Magnavox two months to admit it was faulty and that they couldn't get the part. They replaced it with a new unit with the exact same problem! We'll see if Magnavox will give me a refund. Stay away from this one!

1 out of 5 stars Terrible warranty!   July 31, 2006

We bought this TV from circuit city 11 months ago and were initially very pleased with the price and the picture quality. Last week the sound on the TV broke. We contacted Magnavox and were informed that the year warranty on the TV only covered parts and not labor. We were referred to an authorized Magnavox service center who then charged us $150.00 dollars just to diagnose the problem. We were then asked to pay another $200.00 dollars to have the repair done.

Although this TV appeared to be good value for money when we bought it, all the recent expenses to get it working again have made it much more expensive. We looked into buying an extended warranty to avoid this happening again, but to buy another year warranty costs $200.00 which is outrageous considering we bought the television for $1300.00.

Quite honestly a product that has such a poor initial warranty ie no labor, just parts and only offers an extended warranty at an extortionate price suggests that Magnavox knows that its product is of poor quality and is liable to break.

We will never buy a Magnvox product again and will always check the coverage of the warranty of any expensive electronic device that we buy in the future.

This is a beautiful-looking TV... I love the silver and the style.

The picture is "very good" but it is hard not to remember how good the Sony's looked in the store. If you are picky but not obsessive about picture, this LCD can be perfect for you.

The price is amazing. Circuit City had it on sale for under $1000 and the Sony's at this size were much more expensive.

The menus are extremely easy to navigate, and there are many input options on the back (and some on the side for temporary plug-ins that are easy to reach).

The screen does not swivel, but it is light enough and easy enough to grab hold of in order to rotate it if need be. I look at the "box" TVs now and cringe...

I think you'd love it if you went for it!
