| Customer Reviews: Big lug of a TV, but awesome picture. December 29, 2009 Darik D. Dvorshak (Kansas) Got this used at a thrift store for less than $100. Wow it is heavy, over 200 pounds. Mine was manufactured 2005, has a digital tuner built in. But its just a monitor for the Wii! Since the Wii doesnt use HD this TV/monitor this will serve for at least a year and probably more.
Poor Durability January 2, 2008 J. Soto 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Died after 23 months. $500 to repair. It's better to buy something other than Sony. They are taking a hit in quality as of late.
Greatest $700 Spent. June 30, 2006 Oscar Burgos Jr. (Queens, NY) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Looking for a great quality picture tv but don't have the money or desire for a plasma or LCD? This is the way to go. I have had this tv for abut a year and have not had a single problem with it. I totally recommend it. The ONLY negative thing about this is the weight. It's about 200+ pounds so better get some friends together to lift this bad boy.
Excellent HD alternative December 27, 2005 johnmarco 23 out of 23 found this review helpful
I've been very satisfied with this TV. I typically watch the HDTV in the living room, then go to my bedroom to watch this TV, and I think this picture still looks really good. The size and weight are ... formidable, so be ready to work hard to get it where you want it, and do get a heavy duty stand, because it weighs over 200 lbs, and if you try to swap out a 32 incher for this you may find your stand flattened like a roadside squirrel. The only complaint I have with this TV is that it occasionally emits a high-pitched buzz for 30 seconds or so, and then goes back to quiet. Until flat-panel TV's get much, much cheaper, this TV is an excellent alternative for decent screen size and sub-1000 dollar price.
