Amazon.com Product Description Note: Toshiba 14AF44 14" Flat Screen TV is no longer being manufactured. You may want to consider purchasing the newer HP Toshiba 14AF45 14 inch FST Pure TV (Silver) instead. Toshiba's 14A44 14-inch TV features a flat screen that reduces glare and reflection and maximizes the viewing angles in your TV room. The 14A44 utilizes sophisticated video technology to create an incredibly sharp, realistic picture, including a three-line digital comb filter that improves picture clarity and an invar shadow mask that boosts the color onscreen. This television offers a clean, crisp image with a minimum of distortion from both traditional analog TV signals and digital video sources. The 14A44 gives you rich, stereo sound with built-in speakers and allows you to access Spanish language or other secondary audio soundtracks (SAP), where available. Toshiba's StableSound feature keeps the volume where you want it, even when loud commercials try to blast you out of your seat. The easy-to-use 14A44 features must-have television essentials, such as a sleep timer, parental controls, and an onscreen menu that allows you to refine the setup by setting recording preferences and preferred channels. The multilingual menu lets you control the TV in your choice of English, French, or Spanish. Connecting the 14A44 is simple, and a front-panel composite A/V input makes it easy to hook up a camcorder, video game, DVD player, or VCR to the TV. On the rear panel, you'll find S-video and component inputs as well as two additional composite inputs. What's in the Box TV, remote control, owner's manual.

Quality problems! February 20, 2006 Guitar Joe (Houston, TX) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I really liked the size and design of this TV; I sometimes used it in my study while on the computer (which means light use, not my main TV). The tuner failed after a few months and Toshiba helped pay for it to get fixed (yes, I liked it enough to fix it once even if it is an inexpensive TV). Well, the tuner failed again 15 months after the original purchase date. This time it's off to Mount Trashmore and Toshiba won't be on my list of replacements.
A great TV and very happy I bought it November 15, 2005 Dreams (here) The flat screen is great as well as the reception and I don't even have
cable. The remote has used only one set of batteries for many months.
A great buy.
Beautiful picture--great tv May 16, 2005 Jane Lane 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I've had this tv for just over a year and have been very happy with it in general, as well with the well-formatted remote and easily navigable menu. The 14" flat screen creates a larger-than-you'd-think, impressively vibrant picture, which, along with the surround sound speakers, is perfect for viewing movies. Unlike some of the other reviewers, I have not had any problems with either the tv itself or the remote. Ultimately, I liked this tv so much, and have had so many compliments on it, that I bought the 27" version for my living room. Great tv.
Sorry I bought it. January 21, 2005 Sorry 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
Less than three months after purchase, it's in the shop; an authorized repair center. Picture started "snapping" 'till no more picture. They replaced the picture tube and something else. I took it home. Then, it started displaying flickering white lights across the top of the screen and a vertical rectangular discoloration on the left side of the screen. They've been working on it for a week ...
Perfect for DVD December 19, 2004 G. Vignes (Seattle, WA USA) 12 out of 12 found this review helpful
This set is awesome for conditions where a larger set is impractical (kitchen, workbench...), but you still want quality.
This set comes with component video inputs, colorstream, adjustable aspect ratio, headphone jack output and surround sound. This is PERFECT for ppl like me who watch DVDs with a headphone while working at the computer.
This set has good reception of local channels with a separate indoor antenna. This set is also bristling with inputs (front and back), so it doubles as an excellent little video monitor.
The built-in speakers are very small and do not have much bass. Use headphones (front panel jack) and crank the volume up. The sound is sharp and clear with DVDs, CDs and strong TV stations.
The picture with component video and colorstream is razor sharp and brilliant. There are no raster lines and the picture is flat. You can even adjust the aspect ratio to accomodate widescreen DVDs.
I compared similar 14" flat-screen TVs for 6 months, and the Toshiba 14AF44 offered the best performance for the price by a wide margin.
