Product Description This Apex standard television combines a nifty design and a high functionality with the comfort you need. Channel Recall enables an instant return to the last channel viewed. Closed Caption feature displays the text of a TV broadcast. On/off timer allows the user to set a time for the TV to turn on or off. And Parental Control feature can be used to lock out unacceptable programming. Add to this a 181-channel tuner, V-chip, a sleep timer, and a full-feature, 23-key remote control - now you understand why Apex is the only choice!
Amazon.com Product Description Easily one of the most affordable 27-inch TVs around, the Apex AT2702 offers basic and convenient features for home theaters on a budget. Its stylish silver exterior complements many other audio/video components, and its user-friendly front-panel AV inputs let you plug in a camcorder, VCR, or gaming console quickly and easily. The set is monaural, but if you're interested in stereo sound you can still route a DVD player, VCR, or analog RCA cable-box outputs through a hi-fi integrated receiver or home-theater surround processor while using the AT2702 as a video monitor. Cable or satellite television is not required, however: the set includes a 181-channel NTSC broadcast tuner. Standard RF, composite-, and S-video inputs accommodate DVD players, cable boxes, VCRs, and other AV equipment (up to four devices total, including the front-panel inputs), and a set of rear-panel AV outputs lets you route the TV's audio and video to a VCR for off-air recording. The set also features a trilingual onscreen display (English, Spanish, French), closed-caption display, V-Chip parental control, a sleep timer, auto-off, and a full-function remote control.

Can't beat it for the price! February 15, 2006 A. Schuermann (St. Louis, MO) I have had this TV for almost a year now and I could not be happier. I get great picture through cable and through DVD. Sound is great for mono but you can run the sound out through your DVD to outside speakers. Not that hard to do. Honestly I don't know how you could find a better TV for the price!
Mediocre Quality for a Good Price... January 2, 2005 William D. Barrett (San Juan Capistrano, CA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
The picture quality is good, but the reception is very poor on some cable channels (68, 69, and 70 are the worst). Initially, I thought the problem was with the cable. But we have two TVs and only the Apex shows a problem. We also get picture-perfect reception when using the VCR as the TV tuner. We also moved to a new condominium and still have trouble with the same channels on the Apex. So it is definitely the TV causing the problem. With most TVs being made in China today, there will be quality problems no matter which brand you buy.
A piece of junk October 26, 2004 P. DeRosier (Royal Oak, MI USA) I bought this TV because it had a good picture and was a good deal. However, my TV suffers from the same high-pitched whining sound that others have complained about. That says a lot about the obviously poor quality of Apex products. And, of course, it's now out of warranty. How convenient for Apex.
What a Value March 7, 2004 When I bought this TV it was 80 dollars. I was under the impression by the reviews that it would last me 2 days, and blow up or something catastrophic like that. None of which has happened. The only thing that has indeed happened is it works great, and I can play my X-box as well as my DVD player. On the TV you can be watching a video, go back to TV no problem. I have read a review saying that a high pitched yell or something happenes. That doesn't happen. The TV is a great buy! If you want to by your kids a TV this is it. Or if your a college student, this is your TV. Still lovin it.
Stay away from this product November 18, 2003 7 out of 9 found this review helpful
i bought this model 6 months ago. the volume now pops in and out. you are better off spending an extra 20 bucks, and getting an RCA or someother well-known company brand with stereo.this model is not worth 60 bucks. unless someone is giving you this television, because you only need one for a couple months. don't buy this.
