Pros -
Includes AM/FM receiver
Excellent sound quality for both surround sound and listening to music and radio.
"Wireless" rear speakers work great once you get it up and running.
Bravia Link works flawlessly with Sony Z series LCD and Sony DVD.
Ipod Dock works excellent and has a decent interface.
Looks great
Good tech support available
Cons -
Kind of Expensive, especially when you add in the S-air unit and ipod dock to the mix.
Does NOT upscale output. A BIG DISAPPOINTMENT!
A bit tricky to set up the S-Air features - required a 30 minute tech support call. HINT - Cold reboot after installing the S-Air components.
After the automatic surround sound setup was performed the system still required manual tweaking.
Other thoughts -
Comparing this to the Yamaha YSP-900 it replaced I would rate the Sony's sound quality a tad bit lower but the surround sound effect much better. When looking at the cost of both systems I think the Sony makes for a better solution if you don't want to run wires all over your room.

after much hesitation I finally bought this system, plugged it to my PS3, my Sony Bravia TV and now having an amazing 5.1 sound for such small speakers. The auto calibration feature is nice, but after that you need to push the rear speakers' tone as well as treble, middle and bass tones. From that point you cant be disappointed.
Used to have Rotel stereo amp and Quand 12L speakers for CD listening, now enjoying this 5.1 system for movies and games. The stands are great, bought 4 of them coz they look great and are discreet.

I puchased this item last week and the advertised 'iPod cradle' was not included in the box. I contacted Amazon and they sent me another unit and it also did not have the cradle. The Amazon rep asked me to caal Sony and find out if the unit was included or not. After calling Sony they told me to call Amazon back and get a crdit from them. I called Amazon back and they told me to order the cradle and they would refund the price of it to me account. I just did this and it remains to be seen if I'll receive this mythical dock or not but I hope this is the end of this story...

I've been in the market for a system that had compact speakers with a powerful output. I've found it in the Sony HT-IS100 system. I purchased the system to replace a system that we've had for over 5 years and I was amazed with the output. It was simple to set up. It took less than 30 minutes to get going. The speakers are almost unseen, yet powerful. I would recommend to anyone. I LOVE IT.

I installed this system myself (no expertise except audio system knowledge), and in fact bought a second after my experience with the first one. The setup up is straightforward and the automatic calibration is easy and works. I highly recommend the system.
