Product Description To some, music and movies are a nice diversion. To others, they represent a passion. If you fall into the latter category, the Acoustimass 15 speaker system is made to order. Bose's best Virtually Invisible 5.1-channel home entertainment speaker system delivers the full impact and effects of today's digital audio and video formats. Your ears won't believe your eyes as music, movies, TV programs and sporting events come alive in your room. Engineered for the latest in digital video and audio, the Acoustimass 15 system can also be easily upgraded to a 6.1-channel solution. Wouldn't it be nice to own a system that can grow with you when you're ready? You want edge-of-your-seat excitement, and the technology built into this system enables a 5.1-channel performance that can leave you breathless. Bose's redesigned powered Acoustimass module features proprietary technologies to faithfully reproduce the lowest audible notes across all channels. The module includes three downward-firing drivers that allow you to hear - and feel - the most exhilarating special low-frequency effects common in DVDs. Hide the module out of sight, and all the sound seems to come from the tiny cube speaker arrays. Brace yourself as thunderous waves crash against a storm-tossed ship, or revel in the lilting sound of a single flute. The Acoustimass 15 system gives you cinema-like experiences and music that sounds full and natural at any volume. Many would think these effects require large component speakers. But Bose's Direct/Reflecting speaker technology helps deliver big sound from speakers you can practically fit in the palm of your hand. The Direct/Reflecting cube speaker arrays produce a lifelike, spacious soundstage while blending elegantly with your decor. The Acoustimass 15 speaker system works with most 5.1 surround sound receivers. If you're planning to own a 6.1 surround sound receiver, you'll appreciate this system's adaptability with a Bose 6.1 upgrade speaker kit.

Decent Speaker system- you get what you pay for -- October 6, 2006 S. Dharam (NJ-USA) I own this from last one year. I did research from Infinity Beta series, Atlantic Technology, KEF, M&K ...many others. They sound great but they are bulky. If you want similar performance and nice look (Virtually invisible) yes, Bose is the way to go. I hooked up this to my Yamaha RXV 1500 THX Receiver. It shakes. This is definitely NOT Radio-shack quality.
NOTHING BEATS BOSE QUALITY.......... September 16, 2006 OILMAN (bayside, new york United States) 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
I HAVE HAD MY BOSE AM 10"s THE SYSTEM PRIOR TO THIS ONE ALTHOUGH THEY LOOK IDENTICAL, SINCE 1996 AND I MUST SAY THE SOUND ON MY SURROUND SOUND THEATER SYSTEM STILL MAKES ME JUMP WHEN I PLAY A DVD WITH EITHER D T S OR DOLBY 5.1 ........ BOSE ALTHOUGH THEY MAKE VERY EXPENSIVE SYSTEMS REALLY OFFER A PRODUCT THAT WILL LAST YOU THROUGH THE YEARS. AND IF YOU READ CNET OR ONE OF THE OTHER ONLINE REVIEWERS YOU WILL NOTICE HOW ALL THE OTHER WANNA BE SPEAKER MANUFACTURERS ONLY COMPARE THEMSELVES TO BOSE, AND NO ONE ELSE I WONDER WHY????????

Like what the other guy said if your room is around 20x15 and you want to keep speakers 'virtually invisible' this is for you. You buy it, try it if don't like it return it.I have been trying it and so far it's delivered upto my high expectations. Not only does it sound sweet and I feel like sitting in a live concert, or movie theater it cost me less than here also;) In B Js the package (AM15 series 1 silver+samsung HT DS610B receiver+5cd/dvd changer) for 950.I earlier thought samsung receiver/dvd player must be trashy but it's working okay and I could wait till HDMI-adaptive Onkyo (TX SR604 in particular) comes down to 200s (its right now 400).In one word I'd describe my HT as incredible.bose delivers! (for what it is known)
Great speakers, price could be better May 23, 2006 Vanessa (NY USA) 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
Lets face it, you want to spend your hard earned money on something that will sound great and last for a long time. I agree with most reviewer that the price is too high, but I think the quality is great. I actually have a 6.1 receiver that hooks these speakers up and the additional Bose center speaker. I've had these for 3 years and they worked great, even after 3 different moves across the country. I have almost everything hooked up by fiber optics to my receiver for the best possible quality. Trust me their is a difference between, optical and analog quality and it obvious whenever I listen or play something on TV. Even still to this day when I watch a movie or play a video game I swear I'm hearing something outside or in the house, but its just the sound from the speakers. Also if you know someone in the military, they sell Bose at the PX/BX(Post/Base Exchange). I got mine there and it was cheaper and tax free.
Overpriced Junk with Shiny Marketing May 5, 2006 Jack Smith (anywhere, anywho) 7 out of 13 found this review helpful
I bought a set of these for my sister-in-law because she was convinced Bose was the best. For comparison, I had installed a $300 multimedia computer speaker system for her son a few months prior. the $300 system put these things to shame. if you do a little research, you learn that bose is basically radio shack quality speakers with nike level marketing. i suggest you do your research before paying for a fancy ad campaign.
