Product Description Panasonic's vision of the digital future is driven by the needs and aspirations of its business customers and millions of consumers around the world who use Panasonic products every day. The company shares their dream to live a fuller life by providing ways of working smarter and enjoying the rewards of technological advances. With a mini or micro system from Panasonic, all of your home audio needs are accounted for in one stylish, space-saving package with a cool design and spectacular sound quality.
Amazon.com Product Description Just the thing to turn an apartment, bedroom, or dormitory into a dynamic home theater or music hall, Panasonic's SC-DK20 is raring to envelop you in 5.1-channel Dolby Digital surround sound. The stylish, compact system consists of a 5.1-channel speaker package (including a 130-watt powered subwoofer) and a center unit housing an MP3-friendly, five-disc DVD/CD changer, a cassette deck, and a digital-synthesized FM/AM tuner. With 280 watts total power--including 28 watts per channel for the stereo pair and 25 wpc for the surrounds (at 10 percent total harmonic distortion)--the SC-DK20 is ready to deliver movies and music with excitement and nuance. A three-step subwoofer level control on both the remote control and the main unit lets you tailor the bass level to your program material. The DVD player's MP3 compatibility makes it easy to load the changer with more than 50 consecutive hours of near-CD-quality music. For movies, Panasonic's dialogue enhancer (coupled with the system's 44-watt powered center speaker) makes human voices more intelligible, a great feature for late-night viewing when you want to keep the sound low but still follow what's being said. A 10-bit, 27 MHz video digital-to-analog converter ensures clear, vivid images from discs. What's in the Box Center unit with built-in five-DVD/CD changer, five satellite speakers, one powered subwoofer, requisite speaker wires, user's manual, warranty information.

The SC-DK10 is very good¡ February 2, 2007 Carlos David Palacios Quintero (Los Teques, Miranda Venezuela) A great sound and picture. Very nice and cool design. The SC-DK10 most be equall that the SC-DK20.
An alright, budget minded surround sound system March 6, 2006 Nathaniel Cannon (Rankin Inlet, Nunavut) To tell you the truth, I've had this unit for a while and have been thinking seriously about getting something a bit better. The sound quality is great except for one problem; I have a terrible time trying to hear the voices while watching movies. As I live in an apartment I cannot turn my sound up too high. And when the sound is at a general listening level the ambient music and soundtrack dominates my ears. In Amazons product description I read about a dialogue enhancement but have yet to find it. Another gripe is that I am unable to hook this system up to my cable television so when watching normal TV the sound is coming through my TV's speakers( atleast i am unable to hook it up?!? ). The disc changer itself is also quite loud and takes awhile to switch discs, a few times it sounded as if my disc was stuck, which is just the way it sounds I guess. Given this system is a few years old now, and there is far better systems out including DTS other high-end components. I'd say it's a good buy for a budget minded movie lover looking to get a surround system.
Don't Do It!!! July 26, 2005 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a renamed and slightly tweaked SC-AK600 which has been around since 2002. Buyer beware: My AK600 conked out on me after two years of very gentle usage. Every time the unit powers on I get an F61 error message, which means a faulty or shorted out power supply. Panasonic wont fix it and they wont reply to any of my emails or correspondence. Check them out for yourselves with the Better Business Bureau - Panasonic has an "Unsatisfactory" rating based on excessive UNRESOLVED product quality and repair complaints. Also, do a google search on F61 errors with the AK600 and the SC-DK10 (2004's version of the AK600/DK20) and you'll see literally hundreds of complaints that their amplifiers blew out after about the same amount of time. They took mine and countless others' money for this garbage and now they wont stand behind their product when it is through their own fault that it is broken. Be forewarned...dont be fooled by the unit's look, sound quality and features, because underneath it is an old (from at least 2002), cheaply produced product sold at a high price and masquerading under a supposedly "reputable" brand name. Look elsewhere and avoid Panasonic's products.
Its "nice" November 12, 2003 J. Jones (Annandale, Virginia United States) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I had higher expectations I guess. The MP3 support is the main reason I bought this product but I've come to find that it is impossible to navigate MP3 CDs without the stereo being attached to a television in order and even then its a pain to go through. I also underestimated my want of hearing everything aside from the DvDs I'm viewing through stereo which you won't as theres no input into this machine. It is pretty though and sounds lovely, its just not very usefull for the amount of money I invested in it.

My father bought this system last week.Wow. It's the best system on the market. You can listen your movie by believing you in movie. Dolby digital is excellent. 6 speakers (6.1) for a big total of 340 watts. The subwoofer put your house in an earthquake. The pp.mica woofer technology is excellente for reproduce a thunder sound with no distorsion. Many options (clear-vocal-soft and...) Movie equalizer and manual Eq who allows choosing type of your sound quality. The subwoofer switch is good for choosing the bass power (off-mid and max). PROS: Small unit and powerful sound : DVD player, mp3,cd, cd/rw.... : beautifull desing and subwoofer (150 watts/7 inch) include Very clear sound with pp mica woofer CONS : The cd charger is slow and does a little noise and it takes a little time to see the type of Cd use. :Price (1200$ canadian) In spite of this small cons, this system is the best to listen the music and movie.
