Product Description One of the exceptionally fine aspects of HDTV is that most programs are broadcast with a 5.1 channel surround soundtrack. Panasonic SC-PT660 is an easy way to enjoy it. With the Wireless Kit for Rear Speakers (SH-FX67 sold separately), no cables mean no clutter. You can also expand your music listening into three additional rooms with the wireless multi-room speaker kit (SH-FX85 sold separately). Play your favorite music from your home theater's built-in hard drive in your living room and listen to it in your bedroom, in the den, or even in the garage. The front pair and center speakers are simply wired to the receiver that also has a DVD changer and an AM/FM radio. With 1000 watts of RMS power, home-theater is fully realized. Sit back and enjoy.
The built-in Universal Dock for iPod gives you a great new way to enjoy music and (composite) video. Just slip your iPod into the cradle and enjoy. The dock charges your iPod, allows you to use the home theater remote to control the iPod, has on-screen audio menus, and also plays back iPod video. Got a Panasonic Viera TV? VIERA Link displays a menu on the TV screen, making it easier to operate your connected home theater system. Whatever HDTV you own, it's time to upgrade your sound and the Panasonic SC-PT660 is the best way to start it up. Rear Wireless Ready with the purchase of a SH-FX67 Wireless Speaker Kit Surround Enhancer Magnetically Shielded Speakers Inputs - 1 optical digital audio, 1 auxiliary input / Outputs - 1 component video, 1 video, HDMI and 1 headphone jack

Player didn't work!! August 15, 2008 J. Palmer (Alma, MI) This is a nice looking system by far but I never got to enjoy it. I got everything set up and when I went to turn the power on it made a bunch of not so good sounds.. and the on the display said CHGR ERR. Which means the disc changer is jammed. Did what the book told me to do when this message pops up which is turn the power off and back on to reset it. So I did and the same message and grinding sounds. I called their tech support number they told me to get it serviced at this oe place that is an authorized repair shop over 2 hours from where I live. That means I would have to spend that time driving there and back twice (once to drop it off and then to pick it up) 8 hours of my week gone right there. I just contacted amazon.com and I'm returning it for no cost on the shipping. Save me some gas money this way. All in all it's a very nice system but if you are going to get a 5 disc changer get it with a large drawer instead of these ones that stack the disc on top off each other mainly for this reason they seem to jam alot. I had a 5 disc changer with the large disc drawer that was like a tunrtable type and it lasted me 7 years before it died and it was great. My stereo system has a a stackable disc changer like this dvd sytem has and after only 6 months it started jamming all the time. I do not reccomend this system at all unless it's for looks!!!
Excellent Sound, Clunky Remote August 10, 2008 John Morales (Orange Park, FL United States) The sound quality from this speaker system is excellent. The only quirk of the system is the remote. The buttons are not labeled very well and several of them have multiple uses depending on what mode the system is in. This is understandable, given that this is a multifunction product. The real problem here is that the remote will not work with a universal "learning" remote because there is no "one button" to do most things. Several presses are required to switch to Aux, for example. The problem is solved by purchasing a high end remote like a Harmony. But it's a shame that this step is necessary.
Great System July 15, 2008 Martin J. Kreutzer (Seattle, WA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a great system! It wasn't as loud as I had hoped, but it does just fine in my living room. The controls are not as intuitive as I would have liked, but once you figure it out it works just great.
Great sounding system May 14, 2008 Kevin W 6 out of 8 found this review helpful
The SC-PT660 sounds great, is easy to set up and use, and is priced right at under $300. The optical digital input is a feature many similarly priced systems do not have.
