Sounds even better than it looks April 15, 2008 S. Amen (Lincoln, Ne USA) I am EXTREMELY happy with this product. I don't even really have to mention the looks. You can see in the pictures that the design very clean and modern. It's also a plus that it matches by Samsung tv so well. Now to how it sounds. I've never really had a sound system that processes surround sound so well. When it rains in a movie you can hear every drop. And its all around you! Horror movies are almost freakier than in theaters. When someone's coming to getchya from behind...it really sounds like someone's coming to getchya from behind. Makes your skin crawl for real. And thats exactly what I was looking for since I love horror movies. Music is incredible as well. If i set it on Matrix and get the sound coming out of all five speakers, its amazing. My only complaints are that you cant change the sound setting when you're watching a dvd...though maybe Im just dumb and haven't figured it out. And I just bought a mounting kit and the mounting holes are so tiny that it doesn't work. Could just be that it was a cheap mounting kit! I got a great deal on this on Amazon. It's pricy for sure but well worth it for how great it looks and sounds.
Great HTS in the box value February 20, 2008 T. Salaita After 3 weeks of researching different HTS in a box setups, I decided to go with the Samsung HT X250T, I found a great refurbished deal for 310, so I through it couldn't hurt considering this system retails for close to 600 dollars. This is the first HTS that I own, so this review is strictly based on an amatuers observation (after doing research like a pro). I have a Samsung HP T5044 50 inch plasma, and the first thing I noticed was how well the HTS and the TV 'communicated', now I can use one remote control for all my TV viewing needs (well, along with the cable remote). It took me about 40 minutes to set everything up and connect all the wires, the sound is truly great! I also have a playstation 3, and a HD cable receiver, so I have my HD cable going through the HTS and to the TV, and my ps3 hooked up to the HTS via a optical media cable. So far so good, great system, but make sure u find a great deal.
Great system, if it played N. American DVD's!!! January 15, 2008 Gift Card Recipient (MA) 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
This sytem has great sound and seems to be well worth the money. My issue is with the receiver/DVD player that Amazon sent me. I unpacked the system and got all the speakers set up and organized all the wiring, put in a DVD and "Region Error," came up on the screen. After 5 different calls to Samsung customer service I got the tier 2 "specialist." He never heard of the problem but researched it and told me that my DVD player must have been made for the Phillipines and that there is nothing I can do. I am in the process of returning the system and replacing it with one that is hopefully from the US, ridiculous.
Wansinn (incredible) January 4, 2008 T. Manley 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
I am a single component guy who has always gone with the best of the singles so to speak. The system rumbles your innards and if you combine it with a Samsung LCD/Plasma, it will talk with it and become one with it. I have it hooked up to the Samsung 4071 lcd and the experience is incredible for the following reasons...1080p up...you will not believe your eyes...like real life... Clipping? Forget it. I had it cranked all the way and it did not distort or fade...just rocked my world...ease of use with another Samsung product...almost seamless. I only wish it had one more digital audio in to accommodate both the computer and the lcd. I think this has the power to operate pretty effectively in a room up to around 2000 square feet. After that I don't think it will be able to fill it. In our 500 sq ft room size it more than fills the room. Too bad I'm not being paid to tell you this rocks.
Samsung HT-x250 Great system December 21, 2007 Scott (Charlestown, Indiana USA) 12 out of 12 found this review helpful
Samsung HT-X250T DVD Home Theater System We have a 50" plasma Samsung and while the TV is great, especially on HD, the sound is not impressive. We own some BOSE products and we really like the sound that BOSE provides. I had my mind set to get a BOSE system and was primarily looking at the BOSE 3-2-1 Series II. However the user reviews were middle of the road. I then began to look on this site for 5 star rated systems and was impressed by the reviews on the Samsung HT-x250. We decided to give it a shot and am I ever glad we did. The system has a sleek modern style which we like and fits well with the Samsung TV. Installation was a breeze. Color coded speaker connections really help you to sail right through installation. I've never owned a home theater system before but I had this one up and running in half an hour and I was taking my time. I can use the universl remote for both the TV and the Home Theater System. Now for the important part. This system just delivers unbelievable sound for the price. I can't imagine why anyone would need a better system. For the first test run I put in "Saving Private Ryan" and watched the D-day beach invasion scene. The sound was out of this world. I have this set up in a fairly small room but I feel certain it would work just as well in a larger room, perhaps better because you turn the volume up a little more. When my wife went out this evening I cranked this puppy up to see what it would do. I got it as loud as I could stand it and couldn't detect any distortion. You can adjust the volume on the center speaker as well as the balance between the right and left speakers, both front and back. However I'd like to have a little more sound from the rear speakers and I haven't been able to find a way to increase their volume. Now of course I have not read the owners manual so there may be a way to do this. God forbid I actually ask for help with this. If your looking for a reasonably price Home Theater System I think you'd be very pleased with this choice. Good looks, ease of installation and killer sound.
