MP3 users CHECK compatibilty before you buy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! December 8, 2007 Jason D. West (omaha,ne) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought The HT-q100 about nine months ago. All was going rather well. Its a really cool looking device and for being only a 2.1 it sounds wonderful. I also like the blue lights. I almost exclusively use it as a cd player. Now, some months later I am running into some issues that are getting me red in the face. I can deal with the pause only lasting for 20 seconds before it shuts it self off while using it as a cd player. When I use it as a dvd player it sometimes wont work very well. I mean that a dvd will "skip" or "freeze" on a frame All through most movies! For Christ sakes! Do any of you realize how uncool that it is to a lady you just started dating! Picture this, she comes to your house to watch a movie and the movie starts to skip and freeze!!!! Not good, Not good at all Samsung! Its definitely not going to make for a romantic atmosphere, you know what Im say'n. I dont know if its the design or what, but Im sure because its an upright it could collect dust easier internally. Now the Kicker. Just a week ago I Bought a Creative Zen vision W to play on this wretched thing. SOB- my Vision W isn't compatible!!!!!!! I couldn't for the life of me understand why when I plugged my player in using the supplied USB cable, the Samsung (fill in you Adjective of choice here. Mine is P.o.S)would read No USB. What?? Over and over I tried but to no avail. I was only about 45 min. ago did I find out compatibility was the problem. Hell, I understand that I-Pods dont even work with this thing. Its just reprehensible that A global company would intentionally make Many and Most Mp3 players not compatible with their products. Your a Criminal waste of my hard earned money Samsung and for that I hold you Liable. ultimately this is a deplorable machine and if I could do it over again I would look over this product. I gave it two stars because it looks and sounds good.
beware MP3 incompatibility August 16, 2007 Reviewer 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I bought a Samsung theater planning to use my MP3 player via the USB port. Beware- they do not tell you that the USB feature is compatible with only 30 or so players, 20 of them Samsung plus a couple of other models you've never heard of. It won't even accept iPods! Otherwise it works great and is Gorgeous.
Great Home Theater! July 22, 2007 H. Luong (San Antonio, TX USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I love this home theater system, its soo neat and cool looking. The sound is really good, even at loud volumes, especially since it is a 2.1 stereo system. Great value and buy for the price.
Great Sound March 30, 2007 Michael Dean (UK) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I am not sure if everyone knows this but after you remove the back cover you can unscrew the back off the stand and there is a neat channel for all the wires this makes the unit very neat and tidy even if you have a HDMI, phono, toslink, power and speaker cables all plugged in. Also does anyone know if the usb will power a portable harddrive such as the '650mA WD passport'
Stopped working after a month and a week March 28, 2007 Nicholas M. Wojcik 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
To start, I bought this system because it is supposed to rival the Bose 321 and Sony 2.1 "virtual" surround systems at a fraction of the price. The sound was average at best and the top loading dvd tray didn't make any sense. You had to pull out the head unit to put a movie in every time. Quality - After a month and week after purchase the system had a symbol on like the slash indicating no smoking. Couldn't even eject the DVD that was in the unit. It has been 2 months that my system has been with Samsung, until today when they finally offered me a refund. This has been a horrible experience and I couldn't recommend this product to my worst enemy.
