Amazon.com Product Description Enjoy your entire entertainment collection with the HD-ready 27-inch Toshiba MW26G71 flat CRT combo television, which includes a built-in VCR and DVD player. It has a built-in 181-channel NTSC tuner and can display HDTV with a separate, optional HD receiver. It also features a multi-format memory card reader that's compatible with Secure Digital (SD), MultiMedia (MMC), Memory Stick, and XD cards. In addition to playing movie discs, the DVD player is also compatible with music stored in either MP3 or WMA digital formats on CD-R and CD-RW discs. The CD JPEG Viewer enables you to display digital photo slide shows. Simply load the CD with your favorite photos and create custom slide shows with a few simple clicks of the player's remote control. Toshiba's 19-micron VCR heads match precisely the width of the SP and SLP azimuths and read only the signal recorded on each azimuth (not adjoining tracks). Other VCR features include auto tracking, 8-event/1-month programming, and one-touch record. Toshiba's FST PURE flat tube design delivers increased viewing angles, enhanced picture linearity and reduced light reflections to produce accurate lifelike images. It features a widescreen picture aspect ratio (16:9; standard TVs have a 4:3 aspect ratio), which is the ideal screen format for viewing widescreen video from DVD players and the growing availability of broadcast programming off digital HDTV tuners (HD content is always widescreen), cable boxes and satellite receivers. The 3DYC (4 MB, 10 Bit) digital comb filter eliminates most video noise normally seen in RF and composite video signals. This advanced filter analyzes sequential fields of information to eliminate dot crawl and color bleed. Additionally, the 3D Y/C Comb Filter significantly reduces detail noise, seen as shimmering or flicker, in complex or intricately detailed scenes. The StableSound feature maintains television volume within a preset range regardless of the source signal, eliminating the annoyance of normal program volume being followed immediately by extremely loud commercial messages or drastic volume fluctuations while changing channels. The MW26G71 has Coaxial Dolby Digital and DTS surround sound output. It features the following video and audio connections: - Composite video/audio In: 2 (1 front, 1 rear)
- S-Video In: 2 (1 front, 1 rear)
- HDMI In: 1
- RF: 1
HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) is a lossless, uncompressed, all-digital audio/video interface to link any audio/video source (such as a set-top box, DVD player, or AV receiver) with your TV or monitor. I love this tv, but I would like to add more speakers. I am thinking wireless. Is there something I can use for this kind of tv?
Horrible January 27, 2008 Franois Lacombe (Laval, QC) I thought the quality would meet the one found in Sony's Trinitron, but hell the standard definition for this small size looks WAY BETTER. The convergence is bad and unsettable, and overall picture is washed and overforced. If they think that is what consumers want, I'd rather declare them insane and buy a cheaper but a better and more natural product than this one.
Does what it says it will! July 11, 2007 Barbara Punt 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
So far, so good. I set this up today - it was exceptionally easy to get going quickly. Still haven't figured out how to make the remote sync w/the cable remote so it changes the cable channels for the tv, but apart from that, it does what it says it can.
Great TV ...No need for analog sound!! December 19, 2006 Smitty (Arlington, TX) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Purchased my unit on 13 March 2006; great TV and beautiful HD picture quality. I prefer watching movies and sports on this unit rather than our Toshiba HDTV 51". I look forward to opening my PS3 on Christmas (the Wife is making me wait because of our kids) and connecting to the HDMI, watching HD DVD movies and playing games in 720p or 1081i. For the price and size, it's ideal for us.
