 Loved It, Now Not So Sure July 20, 2008

I purchased this in Dec. 2007 and was very pleased with:
ease of setup, picture quality and color tone. Am a bit of
a cheapskate, so boosted the rather low sound with computer
speakers and the headphone jack...It even played a DVD I'd
created in iDVD w/ no troubles at all ;-)
Was worried about buying my first 'combo' as it seems one part always
seems to fail...
Have been having major problems the past couple of weeks with the DVD player:
skipping, freezing, and just not working well at all! Cleaned discs,
ran cleaning discs through the player - nothing is helping. Hauled-out
my former DVD player to check a particularly troublesome DVD
- and no playback/freezing at all! [All were movies / store-bought.]
Read some other reviews where folks have DVD's permanently stuck
in the mechanism...unfortunately, I think that's where mine is headed!
Will keep my fingers crossed - and the old player setup just in case.

I'm happy enough with this TV but mostly for its price and picture quality. The remote is filled with tiny buttons and very small print. The sound quality is tinny and not remarkable at all. I only use this TV as a supplement to my office so it's not my primary viewing experience, and for this purpose it's fine. But if you're looking for a new TV for your living room, or where ever you do your primary viewing, I would buy a higher-end TV than this.

I purchased 8 of these for my furnished apartments. I was looking for a large enough screen, a dvd player and good price. I found all of these in this TV set. The image is a little cold and even after making adjustments for warmth and color and tone, I still think the image is too cold. But the price is right and my guests are happy!

I ordered this item with the shipping time between may 5 -8. Om may 8th I was told that it was out of stock. I had already thrown out my old TV and took a day off from work, then that afternoon I receive the e-mail. I went back to my open orders to leave feedback and get refund and it was magically gone. I hope I get my refund. Do NOT TRUST ELECTRONIC EXPESS BUY FROM ANY ONE ELSE.

I couldn't be happier. I wanted a wall mount, approx. 19" flat screen TV with a built in DVD player. This TV met all my needs, which I found is hard to come by. Not only is the TV great, but it was delivered in 2 days.
