Fantastic price/quality ratio August 22, 2008 Robert (Washington DC) I receive it one week ago. Very good picture (spectacular in fact), the size is really big by any standards and the price is among the best at this level of quality. Delivery was quick, in a couple of days, but the guys that put it in my home were sloppy and took advantage of my wife being busy with our daughter and did not installed and checked the TV but fortunatelly it was in perfect condition and this is not about the quality of product. The image on the HD chanels is unreal, very good colors, details, black levels, simply amazing. From an upscaling SONY NS700H DVD player the image is really very close to Bluray and HD DVD at a fraction of the price and with regular DVD's that are suddenly HD converted (I will change the player with a Philips DVP 5992 that is code free and has more formats and probably the image will be a little less in quality). The standard chanels are very good as well, significantly improved actually, it could be the Verizon digital cable signal that probably helps. I used HDMI connections and this is also instrumental to activate the entire potential of this TV set. I didn't think that for 1068$ you can get a TV set at this size and this quality genuinely comparable with the very best and expensive ones. The only concern will be the life of the bulb and the additional cost to replace it but we will see about that, I took the risk to trade 700 less in price for not being a LED projection TV like the 750 series. I almost forget: this is 3D technology and while the idea is rather new and I am not certain how good is in this respect (you need additional googles and more broadcasting/games in 3D) it sounds rather exciting.
WOW! Great price, great service, AWESOME picture! August 1, 2008 S. Pingatore 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
We did our research for months and this was the "best of breed" for us. We wanted a display that would do it all, games, HD, PC, HD-3D, and this was the ticket! The first unit that arrived was defective, visible line along the bottom of the screen which looked like a manufacturing defect and did bend the image. Amazon was very cool and shipped out a replacement in three days. WOW, great customer service there! We now have HDTV, Karoke, Wii, PS2, XBox, PC, Laptop, DVD Player-1080p upscaled, all connected and not a problem with any of them! This unit will not hang on the wall but the slimline footprint is great and it only weighs 50 pounds. Lots of connections on the side, we connected the optical out to our home theater (JVC) and processing the 5.1 surround sound is done very well. Fast action sports broadcasts in HD look spectacular on this TV, no ghosting or image bleeding as with our plasma TV. Overall we are very satisfied with the unit, the finish is very rich looking. We were worried about the light that comes out of the back of the TV during operation which is normal but it didn't become an issue at all. The images are crisp and sharp and there is a ton of customization that can be done with the picture through the menu tools. I am sure that someone will find fault with this display but that won't be us!! This was our first purchase through Amazon and they came through with flying color!!
Great HD TV July 19, 2008 C. Dearing (Dallas, TX) 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
This is my first HDTV. I chose this for the long LED life, no color wheel, and basically great bang for the buck. The dimensions are accurate and it fit perfect into our armoire. The sound is great even though it's completely enclosed in the armoire, but we had to experiment with the different audio settings. I believe we settled on "gaming". There is a small text streaking effect, it's hard to describe. It's really only visible with white text on a black background. Samsung provides a 1 year in home warranty with this TV and a technician will be out in a couple of days to help diagnose the problem or replace the set. I cannot tell you how awesome this is. Buy a TV online, encounter problem, technician arrives to home as part of standard Samsung warranty. If you are like me, buying a TV like this online might be a little nerve wracking, but rest assured Electronics Expo and Samsung will take care of you. I wasn't even on hold at the retailer or the manufacturer for more than 30seconds on a Saturday to receive this kind of service, and no transferring me around... Awesome. when watching the TV you have a lot of ways to adjust the picture. After getting the contrast and brightness set the picture quality is great, exactly what I expected. DVDs up converted to 1080P from the Samsung 1080P DVD player look really good. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this item or the retailer to anyone. The screen is plenty bright, but we typically watch this TV at night, so I cannot comment on viewing in a brightly lit room or on any glare problems. But in our situation we have not seen any. Cheers.
WOW!!! July 8, 2008 J. makela (st. louis, mo United States) 2 out of 8 found this review helpful
TV looks so shape in 720P even sharper in 1080I 60 fps. 1080P 90 FPS should look even better. I hooked my old computer up to the TV and watched the A team off netflex with it. I listen in 5.1 sound that comes with HD Brardcast!!!
