Product Description The Quintet MicroSystem proves that size does matter. As the world's smallest horn-loaded surround sound system, the Quintet is a marvel of miniature technology that results in maximum output and real-world dynamics. The Klipsch exclusive MicroTractrix Horn, which drives the four creature-like, seven-inch tall satellite speakers and unassuming center channel, delivers a broad soundstage with smooth, yet powerful reproduction of movies and music.
Amazon.com Product Description One of the smallest horn-loaded surround sound systems around, the Klipsch Synergy Quintet II home theater microsystem in black is a marvel of miniature technology that results in maximum output and real-world dynamics. The Klipsch MicroTractrix(TM) Horn drives the four 7" tall satellite speakers and unassuming center channel, delivering a broad soundstage with smooth, yet powerful reproduction of movies and music. Integrated into the front baffle to minimize diffraction, the horn delivers high output, low distortion, and broad dynamics.
All five speakers are a 2-way design. The four satellite speakers use a 0.75" neodymium magnet dome compression driver with the patented Klipsch MicroTractrix(TM) Horn and one 3.5" woofer. The included center speaker uses the same high-performance, high-frequency driver and 90 degree by 40 degree MicroTractrix(TM) Horn as the satellite speakers, adding two 3.5" woofers for superior dialogue reproduction and positioning. All speakers are magnetically shielded so you can place them near the TV without causing any picture distortion. Offering the ultimate in placement flexibility for your home cinema system, the Quintet II satellites incorporate a unique pedestal design that may be used as a stand for bookshelf placement, or easily swiveled for convenient wall mounting.

Excellent sound despite small size September 1, 2008 Mike Naughton (Washington State) After reading all of the positive reviews I thought I'd try these Klipsch Quintet IIs. The reviews are correct. They are very clean sounding. Not much bass ability at all, but they shouldn't at their size. A good sub will take that role. They have very low distortion and will outplay any Bose setup I've yet heard. They aren't as powerful as my Athena 4 AS-B1s and AS-C1 center channel setup but they are a fraction of their size. They can play very loudly. I hung the 3 front speakers from the ceiling (DIY strap for the center channel speaker) on top of our screen and the imaging is really first rate. I am very happy with these speakers. We purchased them from Vanns, and I was impressed with their speed of delivery and good price.
Sounds Good but Installation Issues August 6, 2008 KidHorn (Maryland) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I'm using this for 4 satellite speakers in a 7.1 setup. I'm using the center speaker for another setup. Sound Quality is great. Particularly for small speakers. They sound very bright. Not much, if any, bass. If you want bass, you need to get a subwoofer. I have the 4 speakers wall mounted. The way they attach to the wall is fine. There are two screws (not supplied) per speaker that the bracket slides over. I'm able to get them to hug the wall pretty easily. The problem is adjusting the position of the speaker. There are 3 allen wrench screws per speaker that need to be tightened once the speaker is in the right spot. The allen wrench is provided. The problem is the allen wrench doesn't fit in the screws easily and they have to be very tight or else the speakers will flop. The instructions that came with the speakers that pertain to this don't match the speakers. The instructions list 2 screws at the base of the bracket that need to be tightened. In reality, there are 3 screws on the speakers themseleves. Other models have the 2 screws. My guess is Klipsch tried to save money by having one user manual for many speakers. Bottom line is if you want them to rest on a flat surface, no problem. if you plan on wall mounting and want them in a position other than flopped straight down at a 45 degree angle, be prepared for some skinned knuckles and some frustration.
Klipsch ist die shiznit May 15, 2008 Dr. Girlfriend (Chicago, Illinois United States) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
After MUCH hesitation I finally bought this set. Having heard so much praise for the Klipsch brand I had decided I wanted to get on the bandwagon, but but at an entry-level expense. Initially I wasn't ready to spend a grand on traditional, full-size speakers... however, things have changed. If these tiny satellites are any indication of what their larger counterparts are capable of I will absolutely spend that $1000+ when the time comes to upgrade. When I first began researching speakers I simply couldn't get over the fact that tiny speakers could deliver big sound. Rest assured, these Quintets do a decent job, they are every bit as loud as the Onkyo speakers I replaced and far superior in clarity and robustness. I have these speakers paired up with a Yamaha 661. I'm using 2 of the Quintets as the surrounds, and a separate set of Polks as the sub-surrounds in my 7.1 setup. Listening to TrueHD and Master Audio (via my ps3) has been pure joy, and I'm hearing enough of a difference that I will probably pick up a third set of quintets to replace the Polks, and eventually the KSW-12" subwoofer.

I bought these speekers from Acoustic Sound Design through Amazon and I am happy with the product and the service I recieved from both company's. I made my purchase based on the reviews on Amazon, these speekers replaced a pair of Accoustic Research speekers that were 15 years old, watching my old DVD's with the Quintet II is like watching them for the first time, I don't have a sub now but will get one eventually. My family room is 15 x 17 and these speekers fill the room with volume to spare.
Great value in a small package! April 26, 2008 Stuart Shave (Washington, DC USA) As a brand, Klipsch has an long-standing reputation, and this set is no exception... The second in what is now a three-generation series, Quintet II represents a great balance of price and performance and is a great choice for those who are willing to invest in a slightly older, but still great, set of speakers. The fact that they have been supplanted by a newer series has served to drive the price down considerably, until they become scarce, which I would assume will drive the price back up... They occupy a notably small and flexible footprint, incuding wall-mountability which allows a great deal of customization in whatever room you want to put them. I have seen them perform well in a larger room, but would conclude that they are at their best in a small to medium sized room. I personally have them in a living room in a 700 sq. ft. apartment, and they do very well in my space... A quick technical note, these speakers will work well with most mid to high-range receivers available on the market that deliver somewhere in the 100 watts/channel range. I have them running with a Yamaha RX-V461 and they do quite well together... Be aware, however, that this particular set of speakers DOES NOT include the matching subwoofer(or any subwoofer for that matter), which is required for optimal performance, but any worthwhile powered subwoofer should work well with these speakers. I can only attest to how well these work with the KSW-10, which is VERY WELL! I recommend them for anyone who is looking for a great set of small speakers that deliver clear, big, sound and go wherever you want to put them!
